Full list of goals here.

26.Read a book of Italian poems.

All I really have to say about this is, GOD is my Italian bad. Or, I guess, not suited generally to pastoral scenes.

47.Watch season 5 of Buffy.

Glory is entertaining. Dawn is... something, all right. I am kind of tired of Buffy herself, but Xander, Anya, Giles and Spike are really the reasons I watch this show anyway.

I think I missed something with Ben, though. What the heck is his story? Is that ever explained?

48.Watch season 6 of Buffy.

GOD DAMN IT. JOSS. GIVE ME MY FUCKING GILES BA--oh there he is YAY

Hooray for the musical.

Not so hooray for, um... well, pretty much the Trio. Oh, and Xander. WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT, KIDS? That was so... NOT Xander. (Okay, so the real end scene of the season? That was awesome. BUT WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT.)

The end of the second-to-last episode? Fucking awesome. The start of the last? SO GOOD.

Also, GOD DAMN IT. JOSS. SPIKE WAS BAD ENOUGH AS CAPTAIN WHINY MCJANUS. WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT.

76.Visit the Metro Toronto Zoo.

Simon took me for my birthday, and Katie came too. :D It was the best day ever.

I haven't been to the zoo in SOOOOOOOOOOO long.

I got to pet stingrays! (De-stingered.) One was, I shit you not, probably a good 3-4 feet in diameter. ENORMOUS. Most of them were smaller, though. One kind of flipped out on Simon and winged him (but they did that a lot... it was kind of like when cats are done being petted, and then wig out and tear around the house?). Anyway. SO COOL.

Also amusing: the camels strutting for us (which I sadly did not get video of). The giraffes snuggling was also adorable. :D

Italian not suited to Pastoral scenes?! What the hell kind of crappy poems were you reading? Either that was just a bad poet or it was a bad translation, Italy CREATED the pastoral scene (in spirit, if not in actuality).

... So yeah, I definitely didn't see the "my" in that sentence. *Facepalm* MAKE MINE A DOUBLE.

I thought season 5 was when the show really started to plummet. There were certainly some things about it that were good but I couldn't get over the fact that Buffy would be all "Bitch trying to kill us. I'll kick your ass!" and Glory would be all "Mwahaha, I'm gonna push you" which was generally followed by [epic pushing maneuver] Buffy flying through a wall somewhere and promptly being ignored. Not to say the fighting aspects of the show are the highlight of it, because the I much prefer the snarky characters and would actually likely prefer if the fight scenes were just cut to the part where Buffy stakes something, but really, you build up this kind of serious feeling of fear, some kind of atmosphere, and then you get to watch a character get pushed five feet into the air, travel through several walls, and then walk it off shortly after. I mean no, that just makes everything feel silly. Like Glory in and of herself had a... nonstandard personality for a villain, but even that had its own creepy thing going. She was sort of the nihilist you could relate to! and then she'd push buffy through a truck and buffy would walk it off and everything would just look silly again. I think my issue was that it went from this well developed atmosphere (like had been done in previous seasons) to a sudden Godhand (http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=vAga2AjfZlg I don't remember how to attach links to words or I would have done it there) feel. (for clarification's sake, Godhand was a game made to parody overtheshoulder fighting games. The end credits are actually remarkably characteristic of the style of the game).

Season 4 it was starting to slip. Season 5 was a much bigger drop though imo. I thought season 4 fit into the "nothing spectacular but not bad" section. 3 was legitimately good (although I liked 2 better, at least before. I haven't seen them for a long time), but 5 is when the show just loses it.
