So tonight, Patrick and I made what can only be described as protein liek whoa curry. It turned out OK, which is far better than any other curry we've tried, although we forgot to cut down on the amounts to account for only two of us - so our crockpot turned out to be unable to contain it all. :P So we steamed the cauliflower separately (and not long enough, IMHO).
We used the Hot Palak curry paste, and half a cup at that, which with all the yogurt wound up being really quite mild.
MY star of the night, however, goes to a slightly modified version of the first smoothie recipe here - replace 1 scoop of ice cream with strawberries and take out the ice, and you get a very nice, summery smoothie, that actually cut the creaminess of the curry quite well. Usually smoothies are so milky that they can't do that, but the lemon and ginger really made an impact in this one.

Apr. 11th, 2009 03:13 pmSo the latest in my recipe a month quest: Honey-Ginger Pineapple Crepes
The crepes were not very... crepe-y, really more like thin pancakes; but the filler was really good. We also used Chai Honey rather than regular, which was tasty, but unfortunately also gave it a bit of a gritty texture. Still, very tasty.

Yum. (+101/1001 Update)
Jan. 24th, 2009 01:51 pmSo these crepes are actually quite surprisingly good. (I did all-purpose flour crepes, though. Fuck whole wheat. Also added a little sugar. And used cottage cheese instead of ricotta.)
Sadly, they are not Meagan-friendly. Any lactose-intolerant/vegan folks out there who have a good substitute for the ol' curds and whey?
Also:
61. Get a massage.
Meagan and I went to the Millcroft for her birthday/Christmas present. I got a massage and it was totally awesome. :D *loves Meagan*
Full list of goals here.

Ah, domestic bliss
Jul. 31st, 2006 09:54 pmI figured it was about time I shared The Mayo Cake recipe with everyone, since people seem to like it.
( $100 Chocolate Cake )

Also - and somewhat pertinent to the food theme I have going - I've figured out why I lose so much weight at my parents' place. Whereas Pat's family plans meals to serve near-exactly the number of people they want to feed, with minimal leftovers, my family seems to cook food for two nights, leaving plates and plates of leftovers behind. I get bored of leftovers - I had it yesterday; why have it today? So I eat less food, wishing for something "new" and "exciting" (relative to my recent plates, anyway).
Yeah. I can work around that.
