01. The character I first fell in love with

It's hard to say - I'm sure I saw an episode or two before I started watching in order, but I'm going to say Kaylee. It just seems right, as I recognized Jewel Staite from other shows.

02. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now

Book. He's not a character you'd expect me to love - a devout Christian priest? Hardly - but I do.

03. The character everyone else loves that I don't

River. Everyone adores River. She's cute, sure, and can be both funny and saddening. However, I love everyone else much, much more.

04. The character I love that everyone else hates

People hate Firefly characters? Inara seems to be a lesser favorite, so I'll say her.

05. The character I used to love but don't any longer

I've never loved any of them and stopped. I love them all intensely!

06. The character I would shag anytime

Oh Lordy, Inara. 'cause you know she's good. And also, beautiful and charming and a million other things.

07. The character I'd want to be like

Kaylee or Inara. It would be nice to be either that optimistic and sunny (and good with machines), and I have to say that possessing elegance and grace wouldn't be bad, either.

08. The character I'd slap

Saffron. Man, did I hate her.

09. A pairing that I love

Zoe/Wash. Not only is it canon, it's love and marriage! Marriage! How often do you see that on TV?

10. A pairing that I despise

Anyone with Book, anyone with River. Sorry, bzzt, wrong, try again next time.

Other than my own? Difficult... I like Hobbes (Pat's fixer), so far. He's very... grouchy.

John Adams makes me grin. He's pretty cool, and I wouldn't have expected it.

Too early to be sure, again. Pat's character springs to mind. Not that it's a bad character... just... mreh. Greedy should be done with class.

I imagine this will be Elle, because, well, ditzes are cute. Annoying, but cute.

Too soon to say. (Sorry, that seems to be my theme song here...!)

Definitely Doc. ;) One, 'cause he's the only relatively normal one. Two, cowboy.

None of them, they're all fucking crazy! Plus being shot at, to boot.

I am imagining that I will have a fondness for most of the romance plots that go around. I will say, for now, that Leah and Jakob's pseudo-relationship formed on assumptions is amusing.

Doc/Mr. Low-Growl-Click-Grr (a sasquatch, for the uninitiated). Because you know someone, somewhere, wants to hear about it ;)

Emma! How can you not love evil, evil Emma? Also Kitty. But Emma!

Kitty. She's not usually the type of character I like in comics, but how can I not love Ms. "You teach Ethics?" Pryde?

03. The character everyone else loves that I don't

Wolverine. And Jean, but she's DEAD AND ONLY APPEARS BY REFERENCE! HAH!

I don't know the fanship well enough to say who is hated.

I feel sort of ambivalent about Cyclops.

Emma. Or Colossus.

Uh... Not sure, there.

None of 'em.

Kitty/Colossus. Huge men and tiny women? Yes please!

Cyclops/Jean, so I guess it's a good thing SHE'S DEAD! HAH!

04. In my experience, not that many people "adored" River. I like River. Mostly because I like:

a) crazy girls
b) girls who kick serious ass

Also, I think that her story is tragic - wasted potential. Simon got to see some of his potential realized. I mean, it's gone, but he can always go "Yes, I was the youngest trauma surgeon on Osiris. And I was noble and brave and gave it all up for my sister."

What does River have to say for herself? "I was a child prodigy but now I'm so crazy I can barely function. And even with people who care about me, there's too much wrong with me and it isn't likely I'll ever be an actualized person. Go me."

05. People hate Inara? o_O

Maybe 's the difference between Waterloo and Victoria. Inara gets lots of love here, River not as much.

Really? Pretty much everyone I know thinks River kicks ass. (At least, the most vocal character-fans are River fans.) Inara and Book get kind of glossed over in favor of other characters, especially since they're kind of secondary characters, inasmuch as they can be - which is why I say she's a "lesser favorite".

Wash would be another fan favorite, but he's also awesome.
