First, and most importantly:
Now then...
Talking to my (American) family about politics is... interesting.
Also, remind me not to bring up gay marriage around my grandmother. Or uncle, because I'm more likely to get mad at him than at my grandmother.
Though my aunt was all like, "guys should not have any say in abortion laws. I'm not a feminist by any stretch of the imagination, but unless the guy can be forced to take the kid when it's born, they should not have aaaaaany say." Heh heh heh.
Though she tried to convince me that Bush doesn't bring his religion into politics. Mmmmno, have to say that he does.
I dislike the hypocrisy that permeates politics. Any politics, Canadian politics included. We just seem to have a lot less of it than Americans do... or maybe I just pay more attention to American politics.
Meh. Anyway, seeing my aunt and uncle was nice.
...why is it that when I want to do something, and am able to, no one ever asks me to do it, and when I can't or don't want to, they invariably do? It's odd.
(i.e. getting me to talk to my great-aunt when she speaks NO English and I spoke NO Italian... now, after I've taken Italian for a year and could concievably carry on a reasonable conversation, we've had her call during gatherings three times and I've NEVER been asked to talk to her. Not that I'd have anything worth saying, but...?)
Anyway. So we are acquiring a dog for two weeks shortly. Ph34r. I guess this means Simon won't be coming over any time soon (well, not that he's come over in, like, ages, since my house kills him, but you know what I mean.)
Goldie is not going to like this, but she's NOT ALLOWED to hide in my room. I need sleep, and that cat does not cater to such a need.
I want to adopt a stray. Specifically, I want a Siamese. Just a mute Siamese. *grins*
And now back to your regular postings:
( Survey says... )
Anyway.
HAPPY BI-DAY, HARRY!
(And Daniel, and JKR!)Now then...
