ZOMG BPAL!!! MEG IS LOVE.
Dec. 31st, 2008 12:39 am*reading 3 Henry VI abruptly derails into a snowbank. A very, very pretty-smelling snowbank.*
BPAL.

And the vampire-themed ones XD Nosferatu, Dracul... <3
Full list:
Blood Kiss (musky, not very bloody, but very nice!), Nosferatu, Dracul, Cairo (omg cannot wait to try), Arkham (!!), Tavern of Hell (best. name. ever.), Yvaine (:D!!!!), Incubus, Danse Macabre, Blood Amber, Phantom Queen, Desire, and PICKLED IMP. XD XD XD
Thirteen in all!
<3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
*trying now. And trying to read 3 Henry VI while trying. This can only end in delicious, blood-scented tears.*
Update: *now reading Henry VIII as I go.*
---
Blood Kiss
Lush, creamy vanilla and the honey of the sweetest kiss smeared with the vital throb of husky clove, swollen red cherries, but darkened with the vampiric sensuality of vetiver, soporific poppy and blood red wine, and a skin-light pulse of feral musk.
In the bottle and first on, this is just musk. Not an unpleasant musk, but strong. As it dries, a little of the vanilla comes to the fore and turns this into YUM. If I had half an hour before going out, this is a 7.5/10.
Cairo
The essence of holy Kyphi, beloved incense of the Egyptian Gods.
A lemony fresh scent. Warm and summery, but not really what I think of when I think of Cairo or the Egyptian Gods... For a lemon, I think I prefer Delirium. 5/10.
Desire
Bittersweet neroli, black patchouli and black musk, gilded by apple, bergamot, blood red rose, teak, and vanilla.
I smell none of these scents in it. XD And can't really describe what I DO smell. However, it is a nice, strong, feminine scent. 5.5/10.
Yvaine
The high, crystalline scent of a star-filled night with blue lavender and lush magnolia.
The magnolia has a very... green tint to it that I find not pleasant. 3/10.
Phantom Queen
Black orchid, apple blossom, meadowsweet, and rue over Irish moss, hawthorn and red clover.
I like the orchid in this at first, but after ten minutes or so it is granny soap. :( 3/10.
Dracul
Black musk, tobacco, fir, balsam of peru, cumin, bitter clove, crushed mint, and orange blossom.
As can be expected, Dracul is a very masculine scent. *l* I can smell the tobacco, musk, and a little of the orange blossom. I think I would like this a lot on a guy, but it is too manly even for me. ;) 4/10.
Nosferatu
Desiccated herbs and gritty earth brought to life with a swell of robust and sanguineous red wines.
Yep, that's gross earth all right. I could see wearing this AS a Nos, but otherwise...? o_O Eeeeurgh. 0/10.
Blood Amber
Slivers of warm, pulsating blood forever crystallized in golden amber resin.
Mmmm... warm... I quite like this one. Smells like the feeling of being wrapped in someone's arms. :D 6/10.
Arkham
Maple, birch, dogwood, cypress and pine softened by a garland of New England wildflowers: bergamot, columbine, rue anemone, blue violet, creeping phlox, bloodroot, toadflax, and pixie moss.
This one's a really fresh, sharp herbal kind of scent. I imagine for those that like the herbal scents, this would be great; on me, it's just meh. 3/10.
Incubus
Spectral white musk and the heart-stopping chill of sheared mint, fanned by caramel-touched body heat, and the diabolical sensuality of black musk, nicotiana, and sage.
In bottle, caramel for sure, with something else light.
On me: ...celery?
...yep, celery. ...oh, celery with caramel.
What the fuck, yo. 1/10.
Danse Macabre
Black cypress with oakmoss, frankincense, oude, and a sliver of toasted hazelnut.
Mostly a musky scent (maybe the frankincense? I don't think I react to that well), and not a very nice musk either. Sharp and yucky. 1/10.
Tavern of Hell
White gardenia, ambergris bouquet, lavender fougere, orange blossom, melissa, tobacco flower, coriander, ebony wood, ylang ylang, absinthe and aged whiskey.
...I think the absinthe and whiskey make this yeeeeurgh. 0/10.
Pickled Imp
Cinnamon, clove, vanilla, and pine sap.
A surprisingly warm and inviting scent, given its name! I can really smell the cloves in this, and to a lesser extent the cinnamon, but all the scents make an appearance. This makes me think of winter baking. Yummy! I think it would need to mellow a little on me, though. But damn, do I want to nom on my hand...! 7.5/10.
I think it's official: put 'blood' or spices somewhere in it and I'm practically guaranteed to love it. XD

Date: 2008-12-31 06:49 pm (UTC)Also, I didn't wrap it or anything, but I figured that since you already knew what it was that'd be okay. And I hope you enjoy it immensely. I did enjoy it, but I wasn't going to read it again so I'm glad it's going to someone who will. :)
