Reading BHM's Storytelling advice

...[I]f you’re a player, tell the GM what’s working and what isn’t. If there’s too much combat for you, ask the GM if he could take a break from running fights for a while. If things are getting slow and you don’t feel like the game’s going anywhere, call that to the GM’s attention. I’ve found that some GMs like to run three or four sessions where the characters meet people, get handed or discover information, and get threatened but don’t really get a chance to DO much. Then, it all comes to a head in one session. Think of it this way: Do you like movies where all of the important plot points and all of the action takes place in the last 20 minutes of the film? This, especially, is what I'm going to need to worry about in my DB game. :P

Again, that will all depend on what else is going on when you get the ball rolling. If you were going to start your DB game next week, I'd say, "Hell yeah! Sign me up!" But if it's going to be, say, late August or early September, when I plan to try running my 4th Edition D&D game and school will be starting up for me again, chances will be a lot slimmer.

Very unlikely, as SimonB wants to be part of the game and will pretty much cut me off from love in September ;) I'm figuring when you guys finish class, so that's what, a week or two from now?

Well, I'm more-or-less done as of this Friday. I'll have one more final assignment to finish up, and that'll take a variable amount of time. I will have more definite details after I speak with my professor tomorrow about my deferral.

But, if it's going to be sooner than later, I guess I'll need to sit down with you sometime and talk about character creation.

I have no idea. I haven't gotten to read up on the universe, and don't know what type of a schedule you're going to try to keep. I've got another game I'm in and commited to, so I'd have to work around that gaming schedule. If you can give me some details, it'd be much appreciated.

I'm figuring right now weekly, evenings, probably 3-4 hours from 7:30-11:30 or thereabouts. As for a day, I don't have one yet. When is your other game?
