Truck carrying flammable liquids rolled over halfway through my route to work today (not near me, just on the route), so we had to make a detour. Wound up being 15 minutes late to work. Ah well, at least I wasn't close by when it happened - apparently drivers that were couldn't leave the area.

Gave me a little extra time to read Tigana, so that was good. I'm a little more than halfway through - 53% or so, to be exact. I don't know if I should give thoughts so far or wait until the story finishes.

I gotta say, though, I'm liking Dianora. She's like this weird blend of Danielle and Az in my head. (Man, I really am lame.)

Edit: I realize that there's a certain amount of stupidity/early-morning-itis that goes into saying "53% or so, to be exact." Go me.

It's certainly interesting, although I am finding that I am far more interested in Dianora than I am in any other character (save Alais, and she's a bit character that's had maybe, oh, 5 pages from her POV?), which is problematic because half the book? Not about Dianora.

Brandin is also pretty cool.

I think I just like the ones that are conflicted/conflicting.

Hmm, Tigana. I'd be interested in what you think when you're through with it. I read it back in high school, when I was probably too immature to appreciate what the author was trying to do with his POV choices.

(Not including me. Grade 8 was many, many years ago. I destroyed my voodoo doll of you during math class in Grade 11, which was also many years ago. You lived through the doll's destruction, so unless my voodoo has some horrific lag...)

Well, traditionally, you need a lock of hair or fingernail clippings, don't you? And since I hardly ever clip my nails (and wash them down the drain if I do), it would need to be someone that had access to my hair.

Truth be told, I have no idea what tradition says. I'm not exactly up-to-snuff on my voodoo know-how. (Fact is, I never actually owned a voodoo doll, of any sort, let alone one with your likeness.)

Your logic is sound, though. My first assumption was that you had a personal vendetta against one of your past hairdressers, like I do.

I remember vary little about Tigana, other than there were lots of times I wanted to grab the characters and make them do the right thing.

Right thing that the reader can see but the character has no idea of. I can't go into more details without spoiling stuff. Plus I have forgotten a lot of the details.

Eh, I have to admit that I didn't see a lot that I could have predicted in advance, but then I'm generally surprised by mysteries. The only thing I can think of was Dianora + Baern.
