WHY MUST HANDS BE SO FUCKING HARD TO DRAW?

I feel so cynical right now. I have this super-frilly gothic lolita dress come out just fine... but FOUR FINGERS will not be drawn.

ARGH!!!!!

Pray tell: How is a dress lolita? I have not before seen this lolita word as an adjective for dresses. You must explain.

One might note that a brief, first-sentence reading of the article also implies it is a younger woman who is dressing thus, hence "lolita".

...especially since one of the people widely credited for inventing the term "elegant gothic lolita" to describe his fashion label [and the way he dresses!] is probably in his 30s or 40s.

Alright. You mentioned Japanese in your first reply, and now something about dressing like an "elegant gothic lolita." This is probably totally off-base, but... Ikuhara?

Also: He may have been the first to coin the term "elegant gothic lolita," but "lolita" on its own does very much refer to a young lady. I'm also pretty sure, but not certain, the term "lolita" came from the book. Hence my confusion why a term used to describe young girls is used to describe a dress.

Your "gothic lolita = Japanese fashion craze" explanation is quite satisfactory and makes sense of your original post. I just want to make it clear that I gave the explanation above because I could not may any sense out of what I didn't quote from your last comment.

Also: the link for the book? Apparently people who bought Lolita also bout Harry Potter books. Perhaps a little creepy?

Specifically, as I recall, very sexualized young girls, which I believe is how the term is meant to refer to the dress--a sexualized version of a little-girl style of dress.

My best friend could sympathize with you there. XD I bought her a pair of (relatively expensive) wooden hand models more than a year ago. Of course, she's used them maybe twice, so I regret buying them. I even asked her beforehand if she wanted them and she got all excited. XP Maybe I should ask her if she'll send them to you, since she's not using them (except to hang things on).
