Newsflash for me:

I need to earn $13/hour, 40 hours/week, 15 weeks this summer to meet tuition.

And that's assuming I get a job starting Monday of next week, AND assuming that I spend $0 on doing anything for myself, including going to Waterloo, hanging out with friends at places that require money, or hell, buy myself a candy bar once in a while.

What the hell.

Hmmm:

Okay, definitely not working for Chapters then. Starting wage is, what, 7.70? Maybe 8? Now, if you manage to cripple one of the full time employees, you could find a 40hr/wk job. E-mail me if this is an option, and I'll send you a list of names with pictures to help you out.
*hugs*

I thought you were done at the end of last year? Maybe I'm just crazy.

Yow. That really, really sucks.

Do you have any other resources? Loans/parents/grandparents about to die/etc.? :)

Good point about saving for a car...I can tell you from my own experience that that's not easy when you're not working full-time. 'Course, this is mostly why I quit college (temporarily, really!) in the first place - I felt like it was sucking up all my resources and not really giving me a whole lot in return.

Good luck with graduation and birthday presents. It'll happen if you really want it to - I'm rooting for you. =)

Good point. Going to a local college here in AK was about $10K US per year in tuition/books/housing/minimal living expenses. Bleah. :P

Just out of curiosity, why is tuition at Humber costing you upwards of $7,800? My tuition at York last year was about $5,500, and that's including the extra 3 credits I took on top of a full course load and the increased cost-per-credit from the year before. Just what the hell are you paying for?

Also: You realize that approximately 22.5% of what you earn gets sucked away from taxes, right? So if Humber intuition is indeed costing you $7,800, you're actually going to need to find a job that pays about $17/hour.

I'll send you an email this afternoon, hopefully, and give you a rundown of my experience with temp agencies. Hopefully that'll help.

Have you considered a TD student line of credit? With the earning power/credit rating your parents have, you'd probably be eligible for around 10K. So long as you're in school and until you've been out of school for a year, you only have to pay the interest on the card as the minimum monthly payment (which is around 1-3% I believe). Check into it. Talk to your parents, etc. I got mine a week after I applied for it.

You can get OSAP. You've been out of high school 4 years, so your parents' income doesn't count anymore. OSAP is my friend now!
