Canadian psycho crosses border with machete, chainsaw and sword on the day he is supposed to be in court for charges of death threats; later found out to have murdered his NB father- and mother-in-law.

And they let him through! (After two hours.)

My question is: if they went through his files to see if there were any reasons he shouldn't have been able to cross the border, would the court date not have come up...?

Nevermind how one could wave 3 hand held items at once. The logistics of that can be easily ignored.

That's pretty skilled. I mean, the machete might be OK, but you'd have to grab the pointy end of the sword at some point, and the chainsaw?

Maybe the blood was from the fingers he accidentally severed.

I find it scary that I've actually seen someone do this. The basics of club juggling apply to all three objects in this case.

I know VampLARP is fiction, but juggling things doesn't put too much kinetic force into the object. Oh, and just because you're fast, doesn't mean the time-frame on the juggled objects increast. Gravity remains constant on them and they'll fall just like any other juggled object.

You know what I find interesting about this story? Its comparison to this story. Specifically the contrast between the nature of the crimes, and the sentences given for each.

Granted, it hasn't been proven yet that Despres is or is not guilty, but I'm assuming he is. And assuming he is, I wouldn't be surprised if he was served a lesser sentence than Gerardo Flores was.

Methinks the world might have gotten their two penalties mixed up. Maybe.

I read about this in yesterday's Toronto Star and had to cover his picture the entire time because it just made me want to cry.

The border security also just baffles me. Having done research on racial profiling and seeing the way people of different races (specifically of Arab descent) are treated at the border, I'm not too shocked that they let him through (well yeah, I'm shocked but in a way I'm not). Not to make this a race thing.

Wow, he really makes me want to cry when I look at his picture. :/
