For a change, notes from Real Life (tm).

Today I was walking into work, watching my feet (as I'm apt to do) when I saw a little brown mouse right in front of me. I thought it odd that it wasn't running away, and it looked like it was hanging out in a Tim Horton's coffee lid.

Then I realized it wasn't a mouse. It was a little brown bat. (It was even smaller than the ones in the photos - maybe the size of a loonie.)

It was really cute... but I'm worried now that it was injured, because it was lying down face-first on concrete and didn't fly away when I was right over top of it.

Then again, it might just have been eating bugs?

I am afraid I am going to see it on the way home. ;_;

just be careful if it's still alive. A friend of mine that went to the states for school saw an injured bat on the ground and decided to nurse it back to health, and ended up having to get herself rabies shots.

it reminds me of that time in your grade 9 (my grade 10) when you found a hurt baby bird on the ground and we brought it into Petsmart.

I hope it's ok, though I am a little creeped out by bats due partly to waking up and finding one in my room once at the family cottage.

I probably would have been creeped out if it had flown at me or something.

It wasn't there on my way home, so I guess it was just eating. (*hopes so anyway*)

AAAH SO CUTE! I hope it's okay. ;_;. You could always call a vet and ask what to do?

I had to laugh at this though:

... because apparently American bats do?

(I guess it's probably neo-tropical stuff, but I still had to chuckle. ^^;; )
