Sufficiently advanced technology may be indistinguishable from magic in the future, but for the time being it can be indistinguishable from art

I can appreciate something like that from a technological perspective (one of the things we do at our machine demonstrations is cut dice), but I'm sort of uncertain on how it makes me feel as an artist (good one or not).

Stephen Hawking Wrong About Black Holes?

I'm just amused that it's being pitched as Stephen Hawking being wrong. Still, that's good; it means the scientific community is working as it should (and the baseball encyclopedia is a cute touch).

Still sick. (Blarg.)

Pat came by last night to help me out with the computer; I think, in the end, I had it working reasonably well. Things are still running slowly, but I'll be tinkering over tonight and tomorrow and hopefully it'll work out.

We went to see King Arthur last night. Squee! I know, I know: it bears little resemblance to any "real" King Arthur legend, but for what it was - a war story - I thoroughly enjoyed it. And the sex jokes were pretty funny. ;) ("#3's a real fighter." "That's because he's mine.") All in all, a good time.

I made Pat stay with me until 3 AM, because I started feeling sad and overall kind of mediocre. And I love Pat, dearly, but for the record? "That's because you probably are" isn't the right answer. (Paraphrased, but that's what it boiled down to.)

And then I had a nightmare which woke me up at 5:30 AM. >.< So, overall, it wasn't a great night for sleep. Still, I'm less tired than any given day last week...

Anyway. I think I'm over the mediocrity thing, at least for the time being. (Isn't this supposed to hit at, like, 35? 40? Blah.)

At least sex is fun.

Let me take a moment to defend the Hawk-meister (http://www.mchawking.com). He wasn't wrong, he just lost the bet. See, he bet against his own belief so that if he was proven wrong, at least he'd win a bet. That lyrical terrorist can do nothing wrong! W0rd.

About King Arthur...

I heard the movie was abysmal. From the acting, the dialogue, and the fact that you don't see whatsherface in that sexy leather outfit for very long at all. From what I had been told, I figured that the horrible acting and dialogue would have thrown you off completely.

But, I haven't actually seen it myself. But it was Mei who told me this, and I trust Mei's opinion on movies. As opposed to, day, Steph's, who has this habit of falling in love with every single bad movies she sees. (I don't think she's seen this one though.)

On the grand scale, we're all mediocre. It's like saying most of us belong to the middle-class. Well yes, but some of us are upper-mediocre.
:P

Note-worthy requires effort. Maybe you aren't mediocre, just lazy. Someone ought to whip you into shape.

Yes, there's one person who's the extreme, and if you kill them, you can claim their talent and status. There can be only one.
