One movie that, surprisingly, passed the Bechdel test: 17 Again.

It doesn't quite squeak past the Mo Movie Measure though (only one of the women is named).

Alex: Jack Layton is now following me on Twitter.
http://twitter.com/jack_layton_mp
"This budget it a complete failure. It doesn't even afford Canada's politicians a desperately needed tax break on moustache dye."

Patrick: ... No fucking way...

Alex: lol
That's the fake. The real one is just jack_layton

Patrick: The real one is much less interested in moustache politics?

Alex: Yeah, more into posting shit like "watch the debates online!"
Jack Layton's favorite word is "great".

Patrick: It should be moustache.

Alex: It should be. Alas.

Patrick: His moustache haunts me, Alex. I know I shouldn't vote for his brand of short sighted leftist spending... and yet... the moustache.

Alex: It loves you.
It wants you to be happy.
And unionized.

Warren Ellis is bringing out a new (cheap!) comic.

Space 3 = teleportation for you AND friends!

Today, Spirit 4. Oooooooo. We'll finally get to see what this baby does.

Tonight: Exalted. I am woefully unprepared.

Tomorrow: Must find out if VIA Rail runs on Canada Day. If not... I'm not sure. o_O Can't drive down tonight, unless I want to share the road with stupid cottage/US goers. Besides, it'll be v. late if I leave after Exalted... though I guess I still COULD.

Pat, if I rolled into town at 12:20 on Friday, could you pick me up?

So yesterday was full of excitement, not all of it the good kind.

First, we went to go see Batman Begins. On the way there, Dad had trouble getting into the left lane on First Gulf, so instead he pulls into the Home Depot parking lot and pulls a U-ie (so that we could go straight when the light changed). We go over a curb.

This has the unfortunate effect of blowing the front right tire out. The van limps into the parking lot, Dad swearing all the way.

We go into the movie anyway.

The movie itself was okay... I was not very interested in the ninjas, but Officer Gordon made up for it (it was totally Gary Oldman! Holy crap!). I think he was the best character in that movie, personally.

Then, we come out... car still has no tire. Thankfully, SimonB is a Good Samaritan (tm), and picked up my mother and sister and I, and even drove me to get food. He is teh best <3 ONE BILLION XP FOR YOU!

And now, I am alone in the office and reading Feet of Clay again.

Also, I asked for my vacation pay up until now. $160, baby, though I lost a lot to tax. Still... $470 for this week is sweet. Also, no work tomorrow!

I feel sorry for border agents this weekend. They are going to be SWARMED.

-Thursday night & Friday: Canadians going into America for their long weekend.
-Friday night & Saturday: Americans going up to Canada for their long weekend.
-Sunday: Canadians come home!
-Monday: Americans go home!
