LJ Idol Week 7: Bupkis

alexmegamiThe ocean rolls us gently as we lie in bed, listening to the sound of waves lapping up against the side of the ship. It is peaceful, calming, like being rocked to sleep.
Days blend into each other easily; the ports are all alike, trinkets for outrageous prices that we buy anyway, women offering to braid our hair, men keeping up an endless patter about their wares.
Eventually, we'll have to come back to the rat race. But for today, we'll let the ocean push us gracefully along to our destinations, nothing on our mind but the feel of the sun on our skin.
