Dear Golden Compass (movie edition) and Return to Labyrinth,

Please to be getting your creepy pedo vibes out of my stories. Especially when, in at least one case, it is FAMILY. And I'm pretty sure NOT INTENDED TO BE THAT WAY.

Thanks,

Alex

I didn't pick up much of the "pedo vibes" from the movie, but to be fair I was also freaking exhausted for pretty much all of that week.

Also, I am sorry the manga I bought for you is creepy. Creeping you out was not my intention.

I didn't notice much in the way of pedo vibes in The Golden Compass, but that might've been because they were rushing through the story like a crack-addled ferret in a room full of methamphetamines (to paraphrase someone on [livejournal.com profile] metaquotes). Ah well.

Incidentally, has the Christmas package I ordered you shown up yet? Should be in a box marked "Amazon"...

Oh, good! At least one of my packages got there. (Admittedly the other one that hasn't arrived yet was my fault...damn ZIP codes...)

I'm looking forward to your thoughts on it. So hopefully you'll be online at some point to tell me. ;)

I haven't seen Golden Compass yet, but I'm assuming the family bit is about where they show you who Moppet looks like? I was weirded out as well.

God, I hated golden compass (movie, haven't read the book), so much. SO MUCH!!!
The fact that there exist people who enjoy it fills me with rage and purpose.

The Golden Compass wasn't a spectacular movie--I wouldn't be thrilled about seeing it a second time--but it certainly wasn't the worst movie I have ever seen, either.
