The site that hosted the update bar I usually use is down, so here's my new updater bar until it's back:

Not nearly as fast as yesterday, but still meeting the minimum word counts. 3% ahead of schedule. Will try and write at least another thousand words before bed tonight.
In other news, I probably shouldn't drink energy drinks. Duh, me.
Oh well. Maybe those thousand words will only take one hour instead of two.

Date: 2006-11-03 02:19 pm (UTC)I think the most words that I ever wrote for a single item was "Ashes", which was a fiction comic script for The Draper that clocked in at just under 6000 words. If I combined all the essays I've ever written in a single month, it probably goes over 10,000.
...I guess I also shouldn't mention that I stayed up until 4AM pushing it over 7000 words, making it officially the longest thing I've ever written. And it's not even in prose format. *rubs eyes*

Date: 2006-11-03 03:49 pm (UTC)I would take a long time to write fiction. I haven't done it since, like, grade 6, though. I think I would feel quite self-conscious about my writing.

Date: 2006-11-03 10:42 pm (UTC)It's sort of the idea - to shut off the inner critic until you have those 50,000 words/a complete story - and THEN your critic can come back out and rip out the swaths of text you hate, and all those niggly points you just weren't quite sure about can be fixed. :)

Date: 2006-11-03 05:01 pm (UTC)Good for you Alex! You have made a significant dent at 9%!
I know this because everytime I handed in an essay late and got docked 10% a day for lateness, my final grade was always significantly lower. Funny that, huh? ;)
So I indeed know the significance of what 10% is. Ok, I know you're at 9%... but really, whats 1%? Pssshaaw! ;)
