So I was telling Sae and Willow about the differences between the aired pilot and the critic viewed pilot of Heroes. And I figured I'd put them up here for those that wanted to know also!

-they extended Mohinder exploring his dad's New York apartment. Initially, it ends after he crushes the cockroach (which made me giggle a little); somewhere along the way, they introduced the Sylar (Skylar?) cassette. I'm not sure how that's going to be related to the rest of the series: maybe another super? But it was new.
-in order to add this in, they subtracted something from the following scene (Simone and Issac [the precog]). Initially, she tells him that his "vision" of the bus bomb is just a coincidence, and he shows her a second portrait: her walking in, wearing the dress she's wearing and carrying that AWESOME portfolio case that she has, and tells her he painted that this morning. THAT'S when she starts freaking out. When she leaves and he chains himself up, there's a saw pointing towards him...
-...which leads into, later, when she and Peter find Issac on the floor? He's sawed off the hand he chained himself with. I think they decided that was WAY to crazy to put on primetime.

However, there was one kind of major one I missed: a whole scene between Tina (Niki's redhead friend) and Micah (Niki's son).

Micah is on the phone in the kitchen, asking about train ticket prices. (I may be projecting, but I think he specifically asks about New York.) He hangs up quickly as Tina comes in. Tina goes to get some cigarettes out of a kitchen drawer, but realizes she's out. She grabs some money out of her purse and asks Micah if he wants to come to the store with her. He eyes the wads of cash in her purse and says no. She just takes a $20, not her entire purse.
Later, when Niki wakes up with the mob guys, it's not Micah calling her that wakes her: it's Tina asking if she came to get Micah, because he's not there.

DUN DUN DUNNNNNNN!!!

But obviously, they changed that...

Man, I fucking love Heroes.

I know, I had downloaded both versions to see the differences, though I haven't watched the "Official" all the way throught yet.

I hadn't picked up on the Micah on the phone in the critic version,

I think the precog scene played better with the second portrait, her freak out was much more justified with that. I'm not sure if it's because they cut it FROM the original version so it doesn't flow, or if it doesn't flow any ways.

As for the hack saw and hand cuff thing, I can see why they did it, way to much for primetime. But but the other way? soooo much better, the scene where they come in and find him you think "Aww shit, he just wanted a fix" and then you pull back and there is his most recent work.

Man, I fucking love Heroes.

I so totally agree.

Also the younger brother, I feel so sorry for him. "Hey, bro I'm finally better than you at something." <Sound of carpet being pulled out from under some one> "No no you really aren't."

I'll have to start watching it, I was unsure if I would like it or not.

Of course, whether or not you watch the show only has an effect in reality if you're a Nielsen household.

If you really want to support the show, I'd keep doing what you're doing here. That is, tell your friends about it, etc. Build it up.

For instance, Heroes didn't sound like the kind of show I'd like, but I've decided I'd better check it out based on what I've read here alone.
