I couldn't find the woman's e-mail, but here's the Conestoga College link for the TESL program: Teaching English as a Second Language (post-graduate)

I'm sure if you called the college regarding the program, they would put you through to her or someone like her that could answer questions about it.

Also, here's the TESL Approved Programs List.

strangely enough, the list doesn't look complete. unless TESL Canada upped their requirements by ALOT since last year. TESL Ontario (as of 2005) had more requirements then TESL Canada.

Brock offers a TESL masters and Niagara College also offers TESL approved courses (unless they were slow, which is possible, they're special over there)

It's a pretty good list. I'm just bored and decided to look at it. :)

I went through the same research 2 years ago when I was trying to figure out what TESL program I wanted to take that would allow me to teach it in schools within Ontario.

Do you need both to teach ESL in the Ontario board?

To teach in the public or separate system, you need either you tesl ontario (which you have to pay for yearly ~$50-70) - which you get at an accredited school in Ontario, or you take a one semester class at teachers college.

That's the official rules. I know a couple of highschools in Waterloo and Peel that the teachers don't have any training at all.

if you want to teach esl abroad as well as in ontario, the full year tesl certificate is the way to go. It gives more options.
