To play this game one puts one's music-generator on random and picks a lyric from the first twenty things that come up.
Then one posts those twenty things and sees how many people can guess them, stripped devoid of their contexts and possibly specifically chosen to be difficult to figure out, because one is a bit of a sadist.
1. You crawled inside my mind when you crawled into my bed
(alternatively) Worthless I'm a whore crawling back for more
2. I’ll get home early from work if you say that you love me
3. Don't keep digging / I want you to leave / Back away from the place where my ashes are buried
4. I want to take you, I want to break you / Supplicate you
5. We want to reveal ourselves at will and speak out minds and never talk small and be intuitive
6. And the plaster dented from your fist / In the hall where you had your first kiss / Reminds you that the memories will fade
7. We'll see the city fuck and fight
8. On the surface I'm a name on a list
9. Beyond this physical terrain / There's an invisible domain / Where angels battle over souls in vast array / But down on earth is where I am / No wings to fly, no place to stand / Here on my knees I am a stranger in this land
10. You'd be like Heaven to touch
[note that my favorite part of this song is ACTUALLY the instrumental interlude.]
11. If you walk without rhythm, you'll never learn
[and for this song, it's actually Christopher Walken. That should make it an EASY guess.]
12. I can feel you pull me down
13. One minute you're waiting for the sky to fall / And next you're dazzled by the beauty of it all
14. Roll out of bed, Mr. Coffee's dead / The morning's looking bright
And your shrink ran off to Europe / And didn't even write
And your husband wants to be a girl
15. I wanna kick at the machine / That made you piss away your dreams
16. Those who feel me near / Pull the blinds and change their minds
17. Every roommate kept awake / By every sigh and scream we make
18. I've been the world over north, south, east, and west / But the middle of nowhere's where I likes it best
19. I never minded talking to you / Can I only turn you off? / I can't remember talking to you
20. Will the ending be ever coming suddenly? / Will I ever get to see the ending to my story?
If I had to guess, most people that bother to reply to this will know:
2, 4, 6, 10, 11, 12, 13, 17, 20

10. I think it's "My Eyes Adored You"... I know it, but can't think of the rest of the lyrics!
... And is 4 a Savage Garden one?

Date: 2004-06-03 07:00 am (UTC)10 is "Can't Take My Eyes Off You", which is close enough to what you said to give the benefit of the doubt! *grins*
And 4 is not Savage Garden, though you are thinking of "Break Me Shake Me" which IS a SG song. ^_^
