Also, your mother is almost never a good judge of your work. She'll either say she loves it or hates it (usually in direct concordance with her feelings about you). Unless it's really, really extraordinary in one direction or the other, you will never, ever get an honest opinion out of her, unless she is a) an expert in the field of your work AND b) the most frank woman on the planet.
I envy people with those mothers.
