So I've finished... I think 150/405? invitations. Anyway, time for a quick lunch break.

The Edge is great. Why?

This morning they played Faint (Linkin Park's latest single). After playing it, they were like, "Yes, Linkin Park, Faint..." and then they started to go into Lenny Kravitz but Dean Blundell was like, "No, wait, wait. I mean, I love Lenny and all, but Faint is SUCH a good song. That song is like God. And it's only 2:41. How can we only play it once? Let's play it again."

So they played Faint twice in a row. It was djhenius.

I can't feel the way I did before
Don't turn your back on me
I won't be ignored

Ugh. 255 letters to go. I guess it could be worse. I guess I could be DEAD.

I co-opted Patrick to help me this morning. Hehe. He stuck labels on things while I typed up addresses. See, Patrick? Isn't my job wonderful?

$3 of my $10/hour is so I don't kill myself with paper cuts from the envelopes.

Ah well. HALFWAY DONE MY LAST WEEK!!!

2 days, 3 hours left.

At least you didn't fall up the stairs and somehow land on the backs of your hands (don't ask;). See Ali, I post and stuff. See? See?

Write more, I have 15 mins until lunch.

Sure, maybe Dean did play Faint twice in a row. And yes, it is a good song, a very, very good song. The problem is that, if that keeps happening, it's going to end up like:

The White Stripes - Seven Nation Army
Gob - Give Up The Grudge
The Music - Take The Long Road And Walk It
Evanescence - Bring Me To Life
Sam Roberts - Where Have All The Good People Gone
Linkin Park - Somewhere I Belong
Jane's Addiction - Just Because
Jersey - Generation Genocide
Radiohead - There There
Anything by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Audioslave, and Coldplay

What do all these songs have in common? They all got overkilled by overplay. Seriously. In a single work day, from 8:30 to 4:30, I've heard most of those songs anywhere between two to five times. Every day.

This doesn't happen to the just the good songs or just the bad songs. I mean, Bring Me To Life was a great song. But it got to the point where I heard it so often on the radio that I swear that's all I was hearing and got sick of it. And then there's things like Give Up The Grudge, which was a horrible song to begin with, and stupid Edge wouldn't stop playing it. Only is recent weeks has it begun is fall on the Thursday 30.

And, yes, the same thing happened with Somewhere I Belong. If the rest of The Edge DJs keep playing Faint like Dean did, it will be just that: faint.

Face it folks: The Edge sucks now, and the only reason we listen to that radio station is because all the other ones suck more. I'm still undecided whether to blame the lack of edge The Edge has on some kind of new music or the vacant void of good music that newer stuff seems to not fill up.

True.

It's a shame that has to happen to any good song.
