Warren Ellis is bringing out a new (cheap!) comic.

Space 3 = teleportation for you AND friends!

Today, Spirit 4. Oooooooo. We'll finally get to see what this baby does.

Tonight: Exalted. I am woefully unprepared.

Tomorrow: Must find out if VIA Rail runs on Canada Day. If not... I'm not sure. o_O Can't drive down tonight, unless I want to share the road with stupid cottage/US goers. Besides, it'll be v. late if I leave after Exalted... though I guess I still COULD.

Pat, if I rolled into town at 12:20 on Friday, could you pick me up?

---

So yesterday was full of excitement, not all of it the good kind.

First, we went to go see Batman Begins. On the way there, Dad had trouble getting into the left lane on First Gulf, so instead he pulls into the Home Depot parking lot and pulls a U-ie (so that we could go straight when the light changed). We go over a curb.

This has the unfortunate effect of blowing the front right tire out. The van limps into the parking lot, Dad swearing all the way.

We go into the movie anyway.

The movie itself was okay... I was not very interested in the ninjas, but Officer Gordon made up for it (it was totally Gary Oldman! Holy crap!). I think he was the best character in that movie, personally.

Then, we come out... car still has no tire. Thankfully, SimonB is a Good Samaritan (tm), and picked up my mother and sister and I, and even drove me to get food. He is teh best <3 ONE BILLION XP FOR YOU!

And now, I am alone in the office and reading Feet of Clay again.

Also, I asked for my vacation pay up until now. $160, baby, though I lost a lot to tax. Still... $470 for this week is sweet. Also, no work tomorrow!

---

I feel sorry for border agents this weekend. They are going to be SWARMED.

-Thursday night & Friday: Canadians going into America for their long weekend.
-Friday night & Saturday: Americans going up to Canada for their long weekend.
-Sunday: Canadians come home!
-Monday: Americans go home!

Woo~.

Death isn't on line. If he was, there would be a sudden drop in the death rate. Although it'd be interesting to see if he'd post things like: Don't you think I sound like James Earl Jones? -Terry Pratchett, alt.fan.pratchett

Whoa!

I guess to make up for yesterday's uber-late Space, they decided to make today's Spirit uber-early.

I give you today's Mage update.

Spirit

Purview: exorcism, the Shadow Realm, soul retrieval, spirits, the Gauntlet

By setting out on the path of the Arcanum of Spirit, a mage seeks to become an intermediary between realms. Spirit mages are often thoughtful people, those who consider the consequences of their actions well beyond the immediate and how those actions will affect their world around them—not only forward into time, but also outward, mindful of the ripples their deeds can cause. Many Spirit mages were religious (or at least faithful) people before the Awakening, though some were incapable of articulating what it was that they felt and still others believed strongly in nothing before the revelation came that stole their ignorance. Many of those who delve into this Arcanum are willing to comfortably admit that there are things beyond the comprehension of man. They walk into the shadows beyond the firelight, knowing full well that there are things to be afraid of out there and perfectly happy with that understanding. Unlike Space mages, they do not blaze a path for others; the road such mages walk is a solitary path, one undertaken only by those who accept that the world is grander, stranger and more dangerous than humanity can possibly even fully comprehend or overcome.

Spirit Guardian (Spirit ••••)

This spell enables a mage to bind a spirit guardian to a person, object or place. The entity watches over its charge to the best of its ability, protecting it as best it can with what powers are available to it. While weak spirits have few powers to offer, they are easy to bind. Strong spirits are difficult to fetter with this spell, but they usually have many capabilities to bring to bear.

Practice: Patterning

Dude, that means that at least in one aspect, Death and Spirit are diametrically opposed; Death soul-steals, Spirit soul-retrieves. That is cool-ass, mutherfuckers.

Also, I like the idea of spirit guardians. I wonder if werewolves like or hate this practice? I'm leaning on the side of hate.

WTF?

Sexy Darth Vader-girl?

Also: Pat, you should try the Werewolf Auspice quiz. I want to see if you get similar results for Daniel as I did.

Wilma, for the record, came up as (all scores out of 25):

Rahu: 23.5 (!!)
Cahalith: 18.5
Elodoth: 7.5
Ithaeur: 5
Irraka: 8.5

(I answered 5 with either B or A, taking the average of the two)

Daniel, as I saw him (you may get wildly different results) was:

Rahu: 6
Cahalith: 14
Elodoth: 18
Ithaeur: 18
Irraka: 12

Looks about right to me. Not very martial, a storyteller, diplomat and wise man, who is reasonably sneaky (but not extensively so).

Edit: Yeah, Daniel came out VERY differently in the wash. As done by their respective players (Pat & Mikey):

Daniel:
Rahu: 11
Cahalith: 6
Elodoth: 17
Ithaeur: 12
Irraka: 8

Ripper:
Rahu: 4
Cahalith: 12
Elodoth: 9
Ithaeur: 14
Irraka: 14
