China syndrome (CHY-nuh SIN-drom) noun

A hypothetical sequence of events in which meltdown at an out-of-control nuclear reactor could cause the molten core to go deeply through the earth.

[From the fanciful idea of a catastrophic nuclear accident in the US resulting in its superheated core sinking in the earth, melting a hole all the way to the other side - to China.]

(Patrick, every so often, will e-mail me "news"/"were you aware" notes from various games we play in. Usually these are things about characters' histories, but every so often it's actual news items, such as the following.)

- A German businessman with the intent of using the mutant pride parade in Germany to further his agenda of MUTANT NAZIS was revealed by three German youths, who attend the University of Hamburg. They are an ESPer in a wheelchair, a pyrokinetic, and a biological plant controller[.]

...

*giggle*

I like cameos.

Oh, and the other cameo from the "news":

- Jake Green was killed by a hyperactive mutant named William "Juice" Idol.

Some of the FAQ questions/answers are hilarious. Some of my favorites so far are:

Q: Can I attune to an item that isn't of my Magical Material without it costing an arm and a leg and the thing exploding?

(short answer: yes, but it costs double)

Q: I have a Hearthstone in an item, and I take the stone out and put it in the weapon of my friend. Does the effect of the stone linger for 24 hours as a deliberate misreading of the text might suggest?

(Ahahaha.)

Q: Are weapons of the Magic Materials ALWAYS incredibly obvious in their composition? For example, are Orichalcum weapons always golden?

A: Yes, they really all do look like super anime attack weapons.

Alex says: Arrrrghhh why can't the weather be nice?
Steven says: Because you have been lax in your Forces training
Alex says: It's true, I have been focusing too much on Prime.
Steven says: Silly Alex, no more than Prime 2 till you have mastered Forces
Alex says: Yes sir. *pout*

This... just... what?

White Wolf supports terrorism.

Didn't you know? Goths, roleplayers and anime fans form the second Axis of Evil.

(Basically: [livejournal.com profile] mephron was bag-searched on a ferry. S/he was carrying the Abyssal Exalted book. The ferry guard tried to confiscate it.

...just... just... what?!)
