Sore. So very sore.
I have a mantra now. It goes "three more weeks... three more weeks..."
Yeah, I can't wait to grow up and join the work force. No, really.
I'm thinking that when this author thing doesn't pan out, I'll go get my teaching degree and become a high school teacher. (The world has ended officially now.) Possibly university, but that'd take a bit more time (and effort).
OK, what I really want is reasonable pay with two months off a year. I'm used to this cycle, damnit, and I want to continue it indefinitely. I want lazy summers!
Anyway...

We have finally! finally! finally! fixed the Aberrant problem. Mostly through judicious use of highly illegal/immoral activities.
Scenario: Jake, Vicki, et al (not so much Thomas at least not to the cops' knowledge) are wanted for murder (Jake) and aiding and abetting a felon (Vicki et al). How do we deal with this? A wonderful 7 step process:
1) Jake disappears into the ether (Kuwait).
2) Aaron returns from the Poconos. He and Thomas form Amazing Legislative Team to get Vicki off from charges. Meanwhile, Imago and Ion Storm mobilize a political backlash against various anti-mutant bill proposals in parliament. Aaron also starts constructing his arguments for mutation not being declared a disability.
3) They form Amazing Legislative Team x2 to get Amy off for nearly killing three cops. Aided by Vicki's grassroots campaign, Amy does not go to jail, but has a parole officer and a halfway house. Thanks to Thomas, this is a lenient halfway house and a lenient parole officer.
4) Jake joins the DeVries agency (an assassination agency, essentially) for a 4-month contract, with the help of an "I killed Totentanz" video constructed by Vicki that is nigh-indistinguishable from actual footage. Jake is told that working for DeVries means that he can be tried for war crimes in most countries.
5) At the end of the four months, Jake cuts a deal with one of the other up-and-coming elites that they will "kill" him with an amazing glowing weapon of god-knows-what (anti-sound, maybe), and he will have a spectacular 'death' on national TV. The elite will be known as the Jake-killer and rise to a much higher pay bracket.
6) Upon doing this, Jake returns to Robert Masterson and his network of Evil Corporate Magnates, who set up a fake identity that MPT Canada is transferred to. Jake then undergoes extensive facial reconstruction and is reborn as... well, tune in next week to find out. (Nova Form = Soundwave, we think.)
7) The stock market stabilizes. Everyone rejoices.
...well, at least we're no longer running from the cops. Or dead. Yay!

And now, to read Exalted.
