My Mother is Better Than Birth Control
Jun. 9th, 2004 11:32 amI will state here and now that this entry has a TMI warning. Read at your own risk.
So my mother and I had "The Talk" a couple of days ago, spurred by a question about whether she would allow me to live somewhere with Patrick if I decided that I wanted to do so.
It is incredibly difficult to have a conversation about sex while simultaneously avoiding mentioning that you have it, but I managed. Thankfully, the closest she came to directly asking me if I was having sex was to ask if I was on birth control.
Though Depo-Provera shots are looking mighty good...
Anyway, so since then I have had exactly no sex drive. It really sucks. I don't even have a sex drive for hot lesbian sex, and that doesn't even come with the risk of pregnancy.
Why can't fertility have an on/off switch?
And why can't my body at least have normal periods, so that I don't run the risk of rampant, mother-induced paranoia?
In the end, though, she said it was my choice, though she thought that Patrick would be a 'distraction'.
I dunno, I managed pretty well last year.
