[Recap: Bernhard is the German guy visiting my dad's company to help sell machines. Darrell is my dad's partner and the V.P. of the company. He is also English.]

So Bernhard comes over to me, and he's like, "Do you have a rubber for me?"
Me: o.O *thinking: elastic band?*
Darrell: *laughing* "No, no... Bernhard... we call them erasers here. In England, rubber is okay... but in Canada, rubber means condom."

Whenever I take the Battleground God test, I invariably wind up having to bite one bullet. Why? Because I demand a higher quality of proof for God than I do for evolution.

To me, this makes sense: evolutionary theory does not inherently bring a standard morality with it. Evolutionary theory does not ban touching pigs, or mandate belief in a One True God, or condemn premarital sex. With anything that defines how I may (or may not) live my life, I am going to require a higher standard of proof.

I don't think that's unreasonable, and so I suppose I must content myself with biting that one bullet.
