So! Here is Part 2 of The Wedding Story.

Saturday morning, I am woken up at 8:30 by my dad showering. I spend the next hour rolling around, trying to catch more Z's, when my aunt Amy calls the room. We're going to the Mall of America for a few hours, it seems.

Now, let me tell you about the Mall of America. It is the largest mall in the States. It has an amusement park in the middle of it. It's like Square One but three sizes larger. It is huge.

Now, I wasn't doing to well on the food front - flying and lack of good sleep will do that to me - so I had a smoothie (which was freakishly expensive - something in the vicinity of $3 American for a small), and my dad had some sort of sandwich. Then we and my aunt and uncle explored, though at some point we seperated for four hours in the mall. Whee!

My dad got a gift for my brother. He gave me $50. I did not spend it anywhere, because, let's face it, I'm cheap. Even with American prices, I couldn't find anything. (I wanted a pair of jeans, but all I could find was low-rise and "J. Lo" brand [also low-rise, but it was a double whammy]. Damn you, pop culture!) There was an entire Sanrio store - literally, the store was called "Sanrio", and sold NOTHING BUT HELLO KITTY MERCHANDISE. As I said to my dad, "If you really wanted, you could have your wedding registry here." Literally - they had a microwave, a toaster, a fridge, a TV with a built-in DVD player - it was madness.

My dad and I walked the entire store in 3 hours. Everyone else was like, "Not enough time!", and we laughed at them.

We met up with Nonna and Zia Ines, and drove down at 2 PM to pick up the best man and the groom to take them to the hall. There were 10 of us piled in a seven-seat car - joyous. I got to see my cousin's house, though - very nice, and they had a hot tub, too.

And then, we fast forward to... the wedding!

The ceremony was beautiful; very Catholic, with a lot of readings done by the various aunts. At the end we were all reciting the Lord's Prayer, and I realized I only know, like, half of it, and that badly. So I mumbled along as best I could and hoped Aunt Ann (my dad's aunt, technically) couldn't hear me.

Lots of compliments on my dress - mom gloated about that when I told her.

Dinner was wonderful - salad with raspberry vinagrette, and breaded chicken with potatoes and veggies. And then there was the cake - each table had a different flavor of cake, so you could trade around for a type you liked. I had the one at our table - chocolate with strawberry mousse filling - it was sooooooo goooooood. Words cannot describe the taste sensation.

And then the drinking! I did a lot of that. Uncle Aldo's girlfriend got me a weak Long Island Iced Tea - and this was after the three glasses of wine and five glasses of Bailey's. After that, I figured I should stop drinking. (I should have stopped drinking at the Bailey's, really, but...)

I danced with my dad twice (the keyboardist played Piano Man! Without my even asking! I was very happy), my uncle Elio once (now, there was a LOT of spinning while drunk... but I stayed on my feet, even with the heels of doom), and once with Mark, a friend of Matt's who was very nice and very cute and I didn't get any pictures of him. This makes me sad. I think most of the reason that I managed to ask him to dance was liquid courage, but I had fun and didn't throw up on his shoes, so it's all good.

And then, 2 AM, back to the hotel - I had another couple of glasses of wine (bad idea), and I talked with people from Amy's family, including her cousin, Matt, who also wants to be a writer. We bitched about Shakespeare and literary criticism. That was funny. At about 4 AM, Daddy dragged me out and we slept (after seeing that True Lies was on and me babbling at him for half an hour).

Sunday, I was hung over. Not my fault - I got woken up six hours after falling asleep, and at that point, I was still working through being drunk. And then they made me get on a plane. My diet for the day was water until 7 PM, after Daddy and I had dropped Nonna and Zia Ines off at their place and grabbed dinner at Timmy's.

Overall, a great weekend! Hurrah!

2. Bold the things that you have in common with me.

My list )
123. I had a super-fun time when Adrian played my sire at game yesterday.

My sire was like super-awesome clean-freak order-needing Malkavian man! Props to Adrian, who was perfect - we had explosive arguments for an hour and a half. Now, I'm going to be in HUUUUUUUUUUUGE amounts of trouble thanks to him, but that can (and will!) also be entertaining. Now, if she dies because of it, I'm going to have a chat with the ST's - there's no reason I should be penalized for having a detailed character background. I don't even have [him as a mentor/the Sire's Resentment flaw/the Infamous Sire flaw/any other reason he would show up], and I didn't invite him, so there will be reckonings.

But... also so much fun!
