My Answers:

1. I feel that my father seldom expresses himself openly. He's a very loving, caring person, but I think that he often bottles up how he's truly feeling because it's not socially acceptable. That actually applies to both of them, but I was thinking of bio-dad when I wrote it.
2. I always wanted to be a writer, up until about, oh, a year ago. Now I want to be a writer, but not as my primary thing, because hyperfocusing on it just fucks with my head. I can't come up with anything, etc. etc. So I have to kind of come at it sideways.
3. If I were in charge we'd be living in a motherfucking socialist paradise, kids. Libertarians would be killing themselves.
4. To me the future looks pretty dreary, to be honest with you. I'm old enough that I should be making my "somedays" NOW, and I'm not, and I think that is... telling.
5. I know it is silly but I am afraid of dark basements. Which, given that I slept in one for two years, is pretty fucking bad.
6. I feel that a real friend will pick up the conversation where you left off as though nothing had changed... even if it's been five years since you last spoke. (Emotionally, that is, not literally.)
7. When I was a child I was a book nerd. I miss being that kid. I went through a book a day at least.
8. When I see a man and a woman together I sometimes observe them closely for the weird emotional bits couples do, if they're a couple; sometimes I just ignore them.
9. At work I get along best with Jeff, who went to Mayfield and is hilarious in a Patrick sort of way. He is a horrible person and it's funny.
10. My mother is someone that I admire from a distance, but find somewhat irritating up close.
11. I would do anything to forget the time I ... I dunno, actually, there's not much I'd like to forget.
12. If my father would only take better care of his health... (Stepfather for that one, bio-dad's pretty fit for his age.)
13. I believe I have the ability to change my life, but the will is sorely lacking. Maybe not will. Drive? Fearlessness? I am a creature of habit and do not like big upsets.
14. I could be perfectly happy if ... no, I really couldn't. I'm too critical to ever be perfectly happy.
15. I think most men could use a healthy dose of reality-checking. I think most men are too focused on themselves (positively or negatively) and most women are too focused on others (ditto).
16. I look forward to the weekends and roleplaying. Me time. Not feeling like I'm falling asleep on the 407 in the mornings.
17. In school my teachers adored me and/or were on a first name basis with my parents, which was SUPER FUN TIMES GUYS LET ME TELL YOU (I bet [livejournal.com profile] falan knows a bit about this :P)
18. Most of my friends don't like people who ... no, my friends (other than Patrick) are usually a pretty accepting lot, actually.
19. I don't like people who freak out easily. I freak out easily but tend to keep it inside, so if OTHER people start panicking it ramps up my anxiety A LOT.
20. What I like least about men is that whole self-absorption thing.
21. I think most girls are pretty.
22. My feeling about married life is that, like almost anything you can name, is good for some people and not for others.
23. My family treats me like ... well, it depends on the side of the family. And which part of the family. Stepdad's side sees me as kind of prickly and way leftist (okay, I am way left, but compared to my family not THAT left). My immediate family treats me as the special shining daughter, which is awkward and really offputting. Daddy's side of the family tends to kind of treat me as an afterthought, which is... sad, but fair (I wasn't really AROUND much, not in the same way that the other kids were).
24. Those I work with are FUCKING NUTS. Lovable, but completely insane. It's a wonder we function.
25. My mother and I have a very... strange relationship. I've never been one for physical contact that I don't seek out, but she pushes physical contact a lot, so with her (unlike with almost anyone else in my life), I feel vaguely uncomfortable hugging her. It's definitely more of an obligation than a desire most of the time.
26. My greatest mistake was not realizing sooner that writing is a hobby, not a career, for me.
27. My father and I have a good if somewhat distant relationship. I really should talk to him more often. I don't think he has ANY idea how much I look up to him, or that despite my terrible technical/scientific abilities, what I would really like to do is take over his business someday. (Never gonna happen.)
28. My greatest weakness is nervousness. I can come up with a million reasons not to do something if I'm afraid of doing it, and often will.
29. The people who work for me will love me. I vow that if I am ever a boss (unlikely, the idea gives me ulcers!), I will not be crazy.
30. Some day I will have the life I want, goddamnit. And I won't be afraid of wanting it.
31. When I see the boss coming I wonder what she's about to dump on me NOW.
32. If I were young again ... again? I am still young! ... I'd probably be less of a douche in school.
33. I believe most women think about sex way more often than they're portayed as doing. And not just because of my friendslist ;)
34. If I had sex relations more often, I think I'd be happier with my life.
35. I think that most mothers worry too much, but I don't much like the alternative either. But then I'm never having kids, so what I think is really a moot point.
36. When I was younger I felt guilty about just about everything "bad" I did. I was not a very mischievous child.
37. I think most fathers should be given paternity leave, and take it.
38. When luck turns against me I give up pretty quickly.
39. In giving orders to others, depending on who I'm ordering around, I can be very demanding. Unless it's strangers, in which case orders will be couched in very demure language...
40. What I want most out of life is to have some kind of direction that points towards something I'll enjoy. :P
41. When I am older I hope that I am less crazy.
42. People whom I consider my superiors are frequent and sometimes disappointing.
43. My fears sometimes force me to be crazy. And stay in bed all day.
44. When I'm not around my friends I get depressed really fucking quickly!
45. My most vivid childhood memory is one that may or may not have actually happened.
46. When I like least about women is the gender policing. I'm not really a girly-girl and with women outside my social group (all three of them) I often find that I don't have any idea what they're talking about and they don't approve of that.
47. My sex life is way wilder than most of my family would expect and tamer than I would like.
48. When I was a child my family took a lot more vacations than they do now, despite the fact that they have more disposable income.
49. My body is falling apart, but I'm up to 36 pushups. :P
50. I like my mother but she makes me crazy. See also: all the other things about my mother. :P How Freudian.
