That's the kind of stuff you don't want to have to deal with over Christmas, my sympathies. We had an elderly neighbour who acted a bit like your grandmother, although more out of cluelessness than any intent. I feel the same way about my family sometimes, I love them, but do they have to be around all the time, doing *things*.
