Christmas Wishlist Meme
Dec. 7th, 2010 12:21 amIt took me hours to think of this whole thing, just so you know.
Okay, so I'm going to start this note with a big-ass warning: I have no money. In fact, I am waiting for money to come in so that I can immediately lose it on January 3rd. So I probably won't be contributing to anyone's list unless it involves local people and baking/cooking (and you're providing the ingredients ;).
THAT SAID.
"The idea is pretty simple. You post a wishlist of ten things. Doesn't matter what size or how expensive they are; the point is that they're each something that you really, truly want. Then encourage your friends to do the same.
Step two is to read your friends' posts (your friends did post, right?) and see if there are any wishes that you feel inspired to fulfill. There's no obligation to do so; however, sometimes you might be surprised at what your friends want that you can provide. Maybe your friend wants some new clothes and you've got a bunch that you don't wear anymore. Maybe you're broke but your friend just needs someone to come cook them a good dinner and let them have a night off. The point isn't to put people out, it's to give everyone a chance to be somebody's holiday elf. If someone gives you something on your list, cross it off."
Things I want!
1. Musicals. I don't really care if it's a CD, a DVD, whatever; I have an addiction and it needsmore cowbell more Broadway. Things I already have/have seen and therefore don't need: Joseph, Phantom, Avenue Q, Les Mis, We Will Rock You, Jersey Boys, Mamma Mia, The Sound of Music. The King and I (there are others I'm sure I'm forgetting, ask if you're not sure). Things I am especially wanting: Jekyll and Hyde, Camelot, other Rodgers and Hammerstein stuff, Gilbert and Sullivan stuff.
2. Art. I'm running an epic-level D&D game, and I'd like to have someone with talent draw the cast, or even chibis of the major NPCs would be seriously wicked-awesome. Or any of my characters, really, it's been a very long time since anyone's drawn for me.
3. The Eldritch Sky poster, or really anything from this website. Well... maybe not the Feegles.
4. Spa day. I can now get massages pretty much whenever I like, but either a professional massage or just, like... mani/pedis don't really work (I'm not allowed to wear nail polish), but SOMETHING like that. Hand massages. Lots of them. All the time.
5. Money, ha ha? That one's mostly for family.
6. Gift cards to clothing stores! (Pat's mom has offered to take me shopping, since she knows clothes and I do not.)
7. Good Christmas-food-gift recipes. Since I'm baking/canning/whatevering for Christmas gifts this year, if you have an awesome cookie that is foolproof and keeps well, tell me now.
8. Fate in EchoBazaar. That would be super-keen. I don't normally like supplying games with hard-earned money, but it's just so damn AWESOME. I want to play the special storylets!
9. BPAL is always a fun way to spend some time playing. :) Just make sure it's not something on my trading-away list. If you want a list of specific stuff I'd like to try out, you can always message me.
10. Ideas for short stories to write and places to submit them to. I can't ALWAYS write for Jen. ;)
