Harvard's Implicit Association TestsThe Scientific American article discussing the IATI've tried most of them. So far, I've gotten the following:
( IAT Results )The men/women ones surprised me, I'll admit, but I think I'm going to come back to them tomorrow and see if changing the order of things doesn't change my preferences. (I tend to get stuck in "men left, women right" if that's how the word orders start, and then can't break out for the second half - so if men start out as the "science/left" association, I have a harder time associating them with the "arts" associations.) -- I'll note that the FAQ does admit that there may be a slight bias from this, I'm not re-testing myself to get better results.
The one that bothers me the most is the African American association with weapons, and I'm going to see if that one is also subject to the order issue.
And I'm mostly confused by the disabled over abled, fat over thin, and Jewish over non-Jewish than anything else, since I fall very much into the "not disabled, skinny atheist" category. It's like the total opposite of what's supposed to happen. (Jefferson v. Bush makes sense - I'm surprised it was only mild.)
I'd like to sit down with some of the articles that have been written and read them.
