Severe thunderstorm warnings, downgraded from
tornado warnings.
I drove
home through that.
I saw so much lightning that it was terrifying. The most impressive was one that arced down directly in front of me, turning the sky around it pinkish purple for a few seconds.
To give you an idea: on my route home, I hit Highway 7/Islington (you know that HUGE dip in Woodbridge yeah) - the water was so high that the YRT stop was flooded, and water from the road was pouring into the parking lot of the Woodbridge Community Centre.
And then: Highway 7/Highway 27: two cars stopped (one tire blown out, one just stopped?) on the east side, and then
THREE stopped on the west side; the
waves created by other drivers going through were
rocking my car hard enough to nearly veer me into one stopped car on my left. One guy pushing his car was up to his thighs.
And, the kicker?
My parents are supposed to be
flying home from Calgary tonight.
And I'm supposed to pick them up from Pearson.
Calloo, callay!
