One last thing:
Jan. 6th, 2005 05:17 amGreen Day's American Idiot CD is the second Aberrant CD.
No, I'm totally serious. I have two theories:
1) We really WERE the Angsty WB Teen Mutant Drama; or
2) Green Day stalked us for songs about our characters.
You can tell which is my pet theory, of course.
Because... because... look! Jake walks alone on the Boulevard of Broken Dreams, Amy is the Rebel Girl holding Thomas' heart like a hand grenade, Thomas (ironically) begs for Novacaine (ironic because Thomas can't take drugs anymore), and Vicki is the Extraordinary Girl who gets so sick of crying (and Imago feels like dying).
And, not only that, the lyrics to Holiday are perfect for the spaceship leaving/end credits.
( I mean, just look at them: )
So, out of something like 14 songs, at least six are good to awesome songs for the series. American Idiot is humorously appropriate given that America was Evil Mutant Wonderland (that, in fact, DID subliminally mindfuck their followers). Though not so much with the anti-gay, given that Scripture and Mazarin ran the show (ah, Divis Mal/Scripture. What a terrifying couple. *snerk*) Are We The Waiting is another song that fits a Jake contemplation moment with shots of Vicki and Thomas. (Wake Me Up) When September Ends is PURE Vicki/Thomas after the first week of Season 2.
So at least eight (maybe nine) of the 13? 14? songs fit.
SEE, MY CONSPIRACY IS TRUE.
