Nov. 3rd, 2004 03:49 amI really wasn't kidding: this election is giving me ulcers.
Most poignant comment I've seen so far: "It speaks to how badly Bush has done that [Americans are] even considering voting out the incumbent during a war."
CNN currently has Bush 249, Kerry 242, with New Mexico, Ohio, Wisconsin, Nevada, and Iowa still waiting to be declared.
With ~95% of the precincts counted in most places, all EXCEPT WISCONSIN are marginally in favor of Bush, mostly in the range of 1-3%.
14,000 votes difference in Iowa (7 votes)
20,000 votes difference in Nevada (5 votes)
1,000 votes difference in New Mexico (5 votes)
147,000 votes difference in Ohio (20 votes)
Wisconsin has Kerry leading Bush by 14,000 votes. (10 votes)
So, in theory, if Bush ONLY wins Ohio, it comes down to the Senate. (I think.) Which is ruled by Republicans, but oh gods we can pray that enough change their votes?
Come on, Ohio, tip the fucking scales. Please.
EDIT ...of course, no sooner do I post than Nevada is declared for Bush.
So now Kerry NEEDS Ohio.
