Yeah. 9_9 I guess they figure if they're not directly responsible they're somehow absolved...

Or they just think that belief in Jesus/God is enough to get them in the good books. Which is sad, but surprisingly often the case with some of the wackier ones. (cf. Jack Chick and his tract about the mass murderer who gets into Heaven, whereas the kind and loving - Buddhist? Catholic? Don't remember offhand - goes to hell because they didn't accept Jesus. Yep.)

*nods* There's actually a passage in the Bible that covers that, though - I wish I could remember the number. But it points out that between, e.g., a Philistine (? Do I have the right group? Oh well, non-Jewish type) lives right their whole life and tries to do good and a Jewish/Christian type who just goes with the flow and figures they'll just get into Heaven because of that, it would be the Philistine that would get in.

A lot of religions expect a LOT of people in their actual scriptures - it always amazes me how quickly people are to forget things like that (and that it's usually those practicing >.< ). :S

Heh, yeah. It's kind of sad, really, which means it heartens me to see people that admit that they don't always meet the bar that's been set, but that they are trying to.
