Sorry, I meant (perceived) gender plays a role in how much people expect you to know about certain topics and/or are impressed (or threatened) by your knowledge. :) But you're also absolutely right, socialization will have a lot to do with whether you learn that information as a young'un or not!

(My dad had videotapes of every single ST:TOS episode, plus all the Trek movies and all the Star Wars movies, and I always remember my stepdad watching ST:TNG. Formative? Definitely.)
