It occurs to me that after LJ ate my weekend-report post, I never did bother reposting it and so have been gone from LJ for almost a week.
So! Here was my weekend and the following week:
-Patrick took me to Leoni's and Second City on Friday. This was extremely cool. Leoni's was very nice, and Second City was hysterical ("...when Jamaica finally won the war in 1982."
"Is that why we have movies like "Don't worry about Private Ryan, mon, let's get high"?"
...
"...when Cuba won the war."
"Is that why our biggest export is indestructible dictators?")
"I would compliment you, but it would come off as trite and insincere."
(later)
"You know, you do look very attractive."
"What happened to 'trite and insincere'?"
And then, driving back to Waterloo, we made an unexpected detour to Oxford County. Silly Patrick. I was dropped off at Joyee and Steven's, and almost promptly fell asleep (there was some minimal drinking beforehand, thanks to Dawn and her Rose Tequila(?) stuff. Mm.)
---
-Saturday! Joyee says "let's go to Toronto for Pride!" and so we went to Toronto for Pride. I went looking for Kat Williams, and we found her just as the Dyke March was starting, and so joined in with the Gay Geeks and got beads, photos taken, and grinned at by cute Asian girls with blue streaks and fangs.
"Let's hear it for Professor Demetrus, the gayest Hermetic in the tri-cities!"
"Let's hear it for William Atherton, the gayest vampire in the Triple Praxis!"
And trying to get people to cheer... "If you've EVER, at ANY POINT in your life EVEN HEARD the word POKEMON, CHEER!" (silence) "FINE! That's it, I give up!"
And lots of Pride Beads, which were then donated to people at LARP!
-LARP. So Jace went insane, Lidia got horribly burned but DIDN'T get to buy off Touch of Frost (hey, at least she didn't die), and and and...!! *love* She finally told Pierre. And... well, he didn't exactly reciprocate, but they have a date. XD At the Black Orchid. W00t.
Since I didn't get Touch of Frost, I might be able to get True Love by next game! :D *dances* If not, I'm gonna get Empathy. Because when you can't communicate with someone verbally, you have to learn how to read body language damn quickly ;)
Also, STUPID GODDAMNED BRUJAH ANARCHS! Sorry, had to get that out. God... they're as bad as the Tremere... Ah, now I understand why Rhys/Jamie works. ;P
----
-Sunday, I played Star Ocean for a really long time, and then we went to Patrick's for a barbeque. Hung out with Steven, Joyee, Patrick and Doug until... mmm... two AM or some absurdly late time like that, stole a whole bunch of Patrick's games/books/comics and ran away. Oh, and we watched the Cowboy Bebop movie! :D Which was very cool.
During the course of watching, we (Joyee and I) discovered that Patrick is extremely ticklish and proceeded to engage in all-out warfare against him! Mwahahaha.
----
-Monday, we picked up Patrick, went to go eat at some place he liked, discovered it was closed and so instead went to Sweet Dreams. Yay bubble tea! We played Scrabble, and as always, Joyee kicked our asses (143, I was second with 121, Patrick had 94 and Steven had 85). Patrick was all proud that he had not come in last, until I pointed out that he had won over the mathie, and he was an English major. Joyee and I are not. ;)
Then we dropped him off at home and took me back to Brampton, were we swam for a little while and then hung out in my room when I got cold. ^^;
----
-Tuesday... Canada Day! I worked (I had the option of Monday or Tuesday off, so I went for my long weekend), but after work Patrick came over! Yay! So we watched Y Tu Mama Tambien, which is a good movie and I like it, but, like Donnie Darko, it makes me sad.
Then we walked over to Chinguacousy Park (Patrick displaying his 'manly' cooler-carrying skillz) and ate, and then hung out until Steve, John, Simon, Matt, Pete, and Phil and Phil's girlfriend showed up. Then we watched fireworks.
"I'm an atheist. ALL HAIL MY DARK LORD ATHEA!"
Then Steve said "let's go bowling!" so we made Patrick drive us to Etobicoke. Jukebox! *loves the jukebox* I did pretty well. And then we drove back to Brampton, and Tuesday ended. Sadness.
----
-Wednesday, I went to a funeral of someone I barely knew, sight-read a bunch of hymns (not hard), and came home and was not allowed to go to Waterloo. Was very disappointed. Family came over.
Something in my brain kicked in at about 11 PM when I decided to make a CD mix, got very lonely, and moped around, then read Jennifer Government, finally finishing it at 3 AM.
----
-Today: am horribly tired. Can't... imagine... why.
"I'm just, you know, informing you, putting the information out there in case you ever want to use it..."
Tonight: Mandarin!
Tomorrow: Who knows?
