Well...

I'm home (by which I mean, back in CLT). Simon is coming to visit on Tuesday and staying for a couple of days. Jason is back and I'll get to see him Thursday night (maybe) and Friday (definitely). There will be roleplaying. And then Saturday there will be Mage. Waiwaiwaiwai!

Life is good.

Vampire (Camarilla) news:

Pierre Chardonne is Prince of the city. Go Malkavians and our crazy prophecies, go Pete and his evil evil Storytelling, go me and Joyee in our schoolgirl outfits, and go Steven! Wai!

Also 'go everyone else' because game yesterday was sooooo fun. Creepy, weird, but fun. *huggles to all*

---

Didn't quite get the aneurysm out of Patrick that Joyee and I really wanted, but the orgasmic twitchy face every time I blew a bubble was hysterical.

Patrick needs to stop being so much fun to tease.

Dillan was also hysterical. See, his Vampire character is this cold, callous bastard... and he was having a very hard time keeping a straight face. It was funny. "Damnit! Cold, callous bastard. Cold, callous bastard... Will you two stop it?!" Hee.

SimonDay in T minus two and counting. Whee!

To do:
1. Clean room for unit inspections/Simon's arrival.
2. Read Left Hand of Darkness and Tigana before Simon's arrival, because there's no way I'll do it after.
3.
4. Profit!

Back to the books... have a SMF test tomorrow too... hmmm... priorities:
1. Left Hand of Darkness
2. Study for SMF
3. Tigana

...on a side note, I met Guy Gavriel Kay; he came to speak for my Fantasy class. I have his autograph. In the true tradition of men with black hair and beards, he looks like my dad.

Oh, random: Guy Kay is, like, freaking RICH. He wrote Fionavar Tapestries - his first book - while in Greece; Tigana was written in Tuscany. What is with these freaking rich authors? I wanna be one!

Anyway. That's all for now, I think. Off to read.

You know, the more I read Left Hand of Darkness, the more I think LeGuin's got an idea of what she's talking about.

"Hate Orgoreyn? No, how should I? How does one hate a country, or love one? Tibe talks about it; I lack the trick of it. I know people, I know towns, farms, hills and rivers and rocks, I know how the sun at sunset in autumn falls on the side of a certain plowland in the hills; but what is the sense of giving a boundary to all that, of giving it a name and ceasing to love where the name ceases to apply? What is love of one's country; is it hate of one's uncountry? Then it's not a good thing. Is it simply self-love? That's a good thing, but one mustn't make a virtue of it, or a profession... Insofar as I love life, I love the hills of the Domain of Estre, but that sort of love does not have a boundary-line of hate. And beyond that, I am ignorant, I hope." -Estraven

Bleh.

50 pages of Left Hand of Darkness to go, and Alex is starting to feel disheartened. Just in general. May have something to do with lack of food.

Wish Simon was here. Want a cuddle. Will make do with a phone call if anyone wants to call me, not that anyone knows my phone number.

Or e-mail. I can live with an e-mail.

Craving communication, Alex thinks.

In other news, have written almost a full two pages of Seth's history for the Sabbat game. Now just need to talk to Emerald or Meaghan about how Seth became part of Eden's Exiles, and need some clarification on how the Sabbat is run to make sure I don't say anything violently stupid.

To do: study, finish LHoD, start Tigana.
