Yay! Finally, a new Fanart 100 entry!

This would be picture #11. It's a little small (and a little late), but I hope you like it.

092. Christmas

Maybe if I work hard, I can have New Year's up for tomorrow.

White Wolf has finally posted about when the novel contest results are going to come in: October 31. The completed novel deadline has then been extended out to April 2006.

So, two more months of waiting. At least now I can stop pacing...

I've been trying to e-mail my submission for the past half hour, and Stewart Wieck keeps replying to tell me that the e-mail is sending my .rtf attachment as bizzaro text within the e-mail, rather than as, say, AN ATTACHMENT.

This, as you can imagine, makes me and the baby Jesus want to cry.

STRESS.

If it does not work from my work e-mail, I don't know what I will do. Waaaaah.

Edit: Sending from work e-mail worked. Will go hyperventilate in a closet for a minute. But, yes. It's in, folks. No turning back now.

Now I'm just stressed that they will/won't choose it. I can't decide which would be more stressful; thinking about either makes me want to cry and vomit.

Woot. As far as I'm concerned, I'm done actual writing; editing begins this weekend, for (probably) a Monday sendout. I've left myself 400 words to play in; those are probably going to be extra description.

Still haven't gotten my cheque, which is a bit annoying, but ah well.

800 words to go. Go me! 4/5ths of the way there!

(Of course, I may not use that full 4000, especially since rigorous editing starts this weekend. I should leave myself a little room.)

I think my last four major character concepts have been reactions to Vicki. Danielle, Leah (both incarnations), Az and Wilma are at, like, four points Vicki could never ever hit. (Az and Danielle are kind of similar, though Az is certainly the darker of the two.) Az is probably the closest, but only by virtue of being a student as well.

Partially, I think that I'm reacting against the girl that eventually broke down into tears at any provocation (although, to be fair, by the end of Aberrant every provocation was on a nuclear level and thus probably justified). Still, Danielle/Leah/Az/Wilma have more in common (especially Danielle/Az and Leah/Wilma) with each other than with Vicki.

Very odd.

Well, I'm doing well today! Added 267 words in the first hour of writing. If I keep this up, maybe I can even finish by this weekend like I wanted to...

Tomorrow: eating out with Simon, Jen and Patrick. Woot. Thursday, Exalted! Also woot.

Also, Min? July 1 is totally next Friday, hon.

43% eh? Got just over a week, eh? Guess I'd better get cracking, eh...

Have managed 250 words. Will try and get the other 250 out tonight, but I feel like I'm not writing anything worthwhile.

Really wish I had those books.

Up to 1500 words, but I finally feel like I'm picking up a little bit of steam.

Title

So, I was trying to think of a title today. Walking in to work early (8:30), I was very tired, so I couldn't come up with much of anything. About the best I could come up with was Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul, but unfortunately, that's already been taken. (I'm betting that, even without copyright infringment laws, it would be too funny/silly/obvious to use, anyway. You know. Souls for tea and all.)

However!

I was bored, and typing things into Google (esp. Amaranth), and I got to a page that had recipes with Amaranth (the flower) in them. This got me thinking about food and eating, which of course led to such silliness as Recipe... for DISASTER!!!

Yeah. I'm not so good with the titles.

However, I thought to myself, 'well, why not call it Slaking the Thirst? That has drinking/eating connotations.' So, curious if anyone else had used it, I put it through Google.

The third or fourth link down is to various translations of Baudelaire's La Fontaine de Sang.

So, I think I'll keep it (liek whoa).

I am also up to 1100 words, although I'm kind of iffy about them. Will send it to myself for editing in Waterloo.

The synopsis is fine, it's everything else I'm going "meh" on...

Pat and I both made the first 99 cutoff for the White Wolf fiction contest!

Holy shit!
